Encouraging Life Mission Statement
The desire is to show children and their families that they are valued, special, and important and to emphasize that they were created with a purpose by a loving Creator who wants to protect them, provide for them, and guide them. It also wants to teach children that life is good, worthwhile, and something to be pursued. Ultimately, it wants to show them how to find eternal life close to the Creator and have His favor and blessing in this life.
The Encouraging Life Children's Outreach seeks to provide for the spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical well being of children by helping them understand that life is precious (both now and eternally) and to recognize what genuinely helps or harms life. It seeks to show that the ways to truly encourage life are to have a close relationship with the Eternal, know the reality of Creation, be responsible in the covenant relationship, have a righteousness that comes only through accepting the Messiah as Savior, and resisting the evil that exists in the world.
Helping Children Build a Relationship with their Creator
Remember, this is about helping people (with an emphasis on children). The outreaches, book publishing, etc, are all tools to aide in that endeavor. But the core is sharing the ways to truly encourage life include having a close relationship with the Creator.
Help Children Understand the Value of Life and Life Eternal
Life is precious. It is something unique and much more than just a physical body. It includes the soul. Ignoring the spiritual aspects of life is detrimental and dangerous.
Encouraging the Spiritual, Emotional, Mental, and Physical Health of Children
Dealing with all aspects of life, both physical and spiritual. Lack can come in many forms including poverty, education, caring relationships, and a relationship with the Eternal. Fulfilling these needs can benefit life in innumerable ways.
Teaching Children to Pursue Righteousness
Pursuing personal righteousness, first through the Savior, then by learning to discern good from evil and trying to act righteously is another great way to help life and avoid harm.
Dealing with Family Situations
The best way to help a child is to help their parents and the family unit. Where there is difficulty, distress, and pressure on the parents, there are usually also negative impacts on the children. Poverty is among the worst.
