Risk of Destruction Unit

From Scripture Advocate

If the Bible is true then we can know there is absolute truth and morality and we can have a relationship with the Creator, there is much more to life than we have experienced especially in the spiritual, then the Eternal has a covenant relationship with His people, forgiveness of sins and eternal life through the Savior is one of the greatest offerings available to all of man kind, and if you ignore the spiritual aspects of life and the fallen nature of man kind then you will not see the need for a Savior and all the work, effort, and struggles of your life will be wasted and come to nothing. If we cannot determine what is real and actual from what is false, then we cannot know what genuinely helps or harms life and an enemy can deceptively steal what is rightfully ours.

Battle for Life and Death

If the Bible is true, then creation was made to sustain life and our efforts should be to take care of it rather than change it and risk destroying ourselves. Falsehood, on the other hand, will lead you away from all these things ... toward death, sin, misery, poor judgment, and fear instead of protection. creation and evolution are not salvation itself, but truth and falsehood take you closer or further from the Eternal and His love ... and moving away does risk not getting salvation if you do not know to look for it.

Battle for Life and Death Summary I am going to open this paper up with the question: what is the meaning of death? Yes, I mean death. There can be many approaches to the study of this topic, but ultimately it usually comes down to one of two answers. A) death is found to be meaningless or B) death is found to be a punishment for unrighteousness (otherwise known as sin). If the meaning of death is meaningless, then the result is that the meaning of life is also meaningless and that we happenstantially exist with no purpose. If the meaning of death is a punishment for unrighteousness, then the meaning of life is a reward for righteousness and there is purpose for life being the way it is.

Search for Meaning to Life

Search for Meaning to Life Summary For the last twenty-five years, I have been on a quest seeking the meaning of life. This quest began on a snowy night while I was a senior in high school. Within that night was a moment where I questioned if death would be better than life. At the time, I did not understand the many factors which had brought me to that point, but at the base of it was a secular education and worldview.

Learning to Follow the Good Shepherd My story reads a lot like a modern novel. The main character (myself) has a defining moment that propels the entire story (having been suicidal and now seeking the meaning of life). Along the way, there are successes that bring me closer to the goal and failures that keep me from attaining it. There is, what could be considered a major failure ... and yet through it all comes a final victory. Unlike a typical story, if I am the protagonist, who is the antagonist? It is not a person. In a search for truth, the enemy is fiction. In a search for something greater, the enemy is fear. In the search for the Kingdom of Heaven, the enemy is sin and a fallen world. In the search for life, the enemy is death. Each of these must be faced multiple times in the journey.

Gambling with Eternity

There is a saying: "you cannot afford to have the dealer against you". This is true in the casino and it is true in the Kingdom of Heaven. Living life according to our own limited knowledge, skill, and effort is a high risk strategy that ultimately leads to loss of life. Building a relationship with our Creator and Savior is the only way to Eternal life.

Gambling with Eternity Summary Gambling is taking a risk, usually with money, in the hope of gaining something more but often losing what one had instead. If we gamble our lives on man made philosophies and worldviews, rather than the truth of the Bible and the need for a Savior, then we risk our physical and spiritual well-being in this lifetime and we completely lose out on eternal life. Betting on (following after) knowledge, magic, money, power, fame, beauty, entertainment, and many other such things may bring some form of pleasure in this world, but it cannot bring peace to the soul nor a loving relationship with the Eternal.
